Update:
The test for RSV, Influenza and other viruses came back as negative. As a preventative measure, the nurse took a sample to send out for testing of Whooping Cough. Nic & I have both been vaccinated against this virus and the nurse says Cayleigh shows no signs of it. In order to bring her out of isolation she will need to be free from viruses and so this is a necessary last step.
Cayleigh did vomit for the first time ever earlier today and the contents appeared to be stomach bile according to both myself and the nurse who saw them. This is a strong indication that the Nissen they put in has either slipped or become loose. In which case, she will require an additional surgery to correct it.
Additionally, Cayleigh had a disdended abdomen around the G-tube site earlier. The nurse took out several viles of air and this seemed to resolve the problem.
We are awaiting a 2pm dye case in which they will insert die down her throat, to go into her stomach, to see where or if the problem is with the Nissen. We will keep you all posted.
Cayleigh does have alot of secretions, is spitting alot of spit out and still has some gagging. We have given her Tylenol and it helped her rest and brought her heartrate down as well.
Keep up the prayers!!
